Delivery and Payments

  • Creating your Yard Sign requires some planning and prep work (things these 2 teachers are experts at!). Due to this, we require all payments to be received 48 hours before delivery. Should payment not be received, an email will be sent to you and your Yard Sign Delivery will be cancelled. 

  • Modification and Accommodations are our middle names! While we will do our very best to create the Yard Sign you order,  yard size and conditions may require us to tweak your original plan. 

  • We are not able to guarantee a specific time for your sign to be delivered, but will absolutely Surprise the Yard during the specified time frame.

  • You do not need to be at home for our delivery or removal! We will quickly and quietly set up your Yard sign! 

  • If you are ordering a Yard sign for an address other than your own, we require that you notify someone in that household that we will be on their property during the scheduled window for both setup and take down.  This is for our safety!  By booking a Yard Sign and securing payment, you are granting permission for us to be on the property.  The Yard Sign purchaser is responsible for the signs while placed in the yard, regardless of if they live at address. We highly recommend forwarding our policies to homeowner and surprise recipient.

  • If you are requesting an evening/night time set up,  please close blinds an/or drapes during the delivery time window. In addition, we ask that you please leave an outside light on for us!

  • In order to ensure your yard sign looks it's best, please water your yard in the days leading up to your delivery if it has not rained in several days.   If yard conditions upon arrival make it impossible for us to install your yard signs, we will refunded up to 50% of your order. This is due to time spent prepping & travel.

  • We are surprising a "yard". We define a yard as unobstructed soil with grass on top! We are unable to  install signs in gravel, concrete, mulch, flower beds, thick landscaping, hard packed soil.

  • Please do not remove our signs from your yard for any reason.  If you need to be taken down before your scheduled removal time, please contact us and we will make arraignments to remove your sign as soon as possible. 

 

Personal Injury and Damages

  • We know that you will want to take lots of pictures with your Yard Sign! We cannot wait to see them! However, please do not touch, lean on, or play near your yard sign. Our signs will not safely support any weight or pressure that is placed upon them.

  • We will not be held liable for injuries or damages that occur.

  • Please do not add anything to your yard signs. For example, no attaching balloons, decorations, pictures, etc.  

  • Please take care of all maintenance before your scheduled delivery time!  Do not mow, edge around or take down the yard sign display for yard work.  Damage caused by mowing & yard maintenance will be assessed & billed at our replacement cost.

  • If you have a lawn service scheduled during the duration of your yard sign it is your responsibility to inform them of this policy or you may choose to reschedule with them after the signs are picked up.

  • If you have any outdoor pets, please keep them away from the signs.  Damage caused by pets will be assessed & billed at our replacement cost. 

  • All signs are the property of Surprise the Yard. You will be held responsible for all damages/replacement charges.

  • Surprise the Yard is not responsible or liable for any injury or damage that may be caused to any person or personal property during the setup or removal of signs.

 

Photography and Advertising Release

  • We will photograph your yard greeting rental for use on our business website, Instagram, and Facebook pages and publicly congratulate the recipient unless you otherwise inform us not to do so.

  • We will place a small sign in your yard with our contact info. This sign is unobtrusive to your custom greeting, please do not move it.

  • We will place a door hanger on your front door with our contact information, as well as the name of who ordered the sign. 

 

Cancellations and Refunds

  • We respectfully reserve the right to cancel an order if we feel the delivery area may be unsafe for our employees or our signs. We will immediately contact you should this situation arise in order to decide on an alternative arrangement/solution.

  • We will not be able to deliver or remove yard signs under hazardous weather conditions- including, but not limited to lightening, hail, and strong wind. We will do our best to make alternative scheduling arrangements, but if we are unable to set up due to severe weather, you will receive a full refund. We reserve the right to pull a greeting early if hazardous weather conditions arise.

  • If you must cancel your yard sign, you must do so AT LEAST 48 hours BEFORE your scheduled delivery in order to receive a refund.

  • Rescheduling a greeting for any reason is subject to availability. We ask that all rescheduling requests be submitted 48 hours before your scheduled delivery. 

  • ​With so much to celebrate, our yard signs stay busy. As such, letters & graphics are used on a daily basis and by the nature of our business, they are exposed to the elements outside and during travel.  While we make every effort to repair & replace inventory as needed, normal wear is to be expected on letters & graphics.  

  • If we are are provided the incorrect address for delivery, refunds will not be provided if sign has been placed.  Addresses are copied & pasted directly from the booking form.  PLEASE double check address prior to our arrival. In the event we have been provided an incorrect address & we can not install the sign- signs will be refunded up to $50 if they have not yet been placed.
